Another Chance

Living incomplete days of pessimism, obscurity and doubts about token problems,
We fidget through life, and then die. Some look forward to religious hereafter worlds,
Overflowing with joy and bright light and bland nothingness, but most opt for living
Insipidly and worshipping the Almighty Dollar! In this matter, I shall take no sides.

For I have been near the clutch of death too many times, and I've become skilled
At living. Try holding a newborn baby in your arms and wonder at the miracle of
Life. Hug your children as often as possible, for they are a part of you. Hear the
Wind rustling through tall mountainous pine trees, and listen to your higher spirit.

For when all is said and done and they slowly lower you into the cool dark earth,
You will faintly hear the voices of those above and marvel at the magnitude
Of friends you have made during life's mystifying passage. Then you begin a
Quiet howling when the finality of proverbial words clout your sleeping face:

"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust." Would anyone like another chance?
